April in Paris: The Music of Count Basie

Jazz was in the air at Slayton House in Columbia, as the Columbia Jazz Band played to a sold-out crowd on April, 27th, 2018. The relaxed cabaret style evening, was presented as April in Paris: The Music of Count Basie. Charts like “One O’Clock Jump”, “Have A Nice Day”, “I Can’t Stop Loving You”, and “April in Paris”, paired with Frank Sinatra/Basie collaborations, “Come Fly with Me”, “Street of Dreams” and “Get Me to the Church on Time”, brought thunderous applause. Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival
The Columbia Jazz Band will be performing at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 7pm on the Atrium stage in the Hilton Hotel, 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852. The concert is free and open to the public. The festival runs from February 16-18, 2018 with great artists and bands throughout the afternoons and evenings. Come lift the winter “blues” with some contemporary jazz, standards, swing, latin, and gospel rock.
